Assistant Pastor  

(Full-time/part-time positions available)

                

Gospel City Church is an eight-year-old English-speaking church plant in Seoul, Korea. We also have a growing Korean-speaking ministry that was started two years ago. Currently, we have an active congregation of around 150 people. We aim to be a healthy church that is all about Jesus and people. These values have been evident throughout the years as we have seen people come to Christ, de-churched people come back to church, and apathetic Christians grow.                            

Gospel City exists to transform people, cultures, cities, and nations through the gospel by raising disciples of Christ in authentic community and by planting healthy churches for the glory of God. We have seen many Koreans come to our church because of our Christ-centered preaching and gospel-shaped culture. In the following years, our vision is to reach more Koreans by planting healthy Korean-speaking churches.            

 

We are looking for an assistant pastor to join us in serving our English-speaking community. The assistant pastor will support the lead pastor in championing the vision and mission of GCC. The ideal candidate is passionate about gospel-centered ministry and has a heart for the nation of Korea. 

 

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gospel-centered, missional spirituality: The assistant pastor is expected to know and love our Lord Jesus Christ above all. He must have a deep faith in the power of the gospel to transform lives. He must pursue a life of worship and discipleship as well as exhibit missional living. 

  • Calling to Pastoral Ministry: The assistant pastor must have a firm sense of God’s call to be a pastor and have a lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-5)

  • Leadership and Pastoral Care: The primary role of the assistant pastor will be to partner with the lead pastor in shepherding GCC. He will be expected to attend all church staff meetings and retreats. He will also be preaching, teaching classes, and caring for members. 

  • Small Groups and Discipleship: Will model discipleship in community by being an active member of the church community and involved in a community group. He will also help oversee the courses taught in the church. 

  • Support ministries: The assistant pastor will be expected to help support the Lead Pastor in ministry planning and oversight.

  • Team Player: The assistant pastor will be working closely with the lead pastor, advisory group, interns, and members of the church. He must be a reliable team player who displays flexibility and humility.




QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Is committed to gospel-centered theology, leadership, personal development, and church planting

  • Ordained minister or pursuing ordination 

  • Is teachable, passionate, and self-motivated

  • Has the proven ability to shepherd others, and build systems and teams

  • Is skilled in communication and competent in administration

  • Is fluent in English (fluency in Korean would also be preferred)

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Enrolled in or graduated with M. Div or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary

  • Experience: Two or more years of full-time vocational ministry in a local church

복음도시교회는 대한민국 서울에 설립된 8년 된 영어권 교회입니다. 우리는 또한 2년 전에 시작된 한국어 사역을 성장시키고 있습니다. 현재 우리 교회에는 약 150명의 성도가 활동하고 있습니다. 예수님과 사람 중심의 건강한 교회를 지향합니다. 이러한 가치는 사람들이 그리스도께 나아오고, 교회에서 탈퇴한 사람들이 다시 교회로 돌아오고, 냉담한 기독교인들이 성장하는 것을 보면서 수년 동안 분명해졌습니다.
복음도시는 진정한 공동체 안에서 그리스도의 제자를 키우고, 하나님의 영광을 위해 건강한 교회를 개척하여 복음을 통해 사람, 문화, 도시, 국가를 변화시키기 위해 존재합니다. 우리는 그리스도 중심의 설교와 복음적인 문화 때문에 많은 한국인들이 우리 교회에 오는 것을 보았습니다. 앞으로 우리의 비전은 건강한 한국어 교회를 개척하여 더 많은 한국인들에게 다가가는 것입니다.

우리는 영어권 지역사회를 섬기는데 함께 일하실 부목사님을 찾고 있습니다. 부목사는 GCC의 비전과 사명을 옹호하는 담임목사를 지원할 것입니다. 이상적인 후보자는 복음 중심의 사역에 대한 열정과 한국 민족을 위한 마음을 가진 사람입니다.


기대와 책임
복음 중심의 선교적 영성: 부목사는 무엇보다도 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 알고 사랑해야 합니다. 그는 삶을 변화시키는 복음의 능력에 대한 깊은 믿음을 가져야 합니다. 그는 선교적인 삶을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라 예배와 제자도의 삶을 추구해야 합니다.
목회 사역에 대한 부르심: 부목사는 목사가 되라는 하나님의 부르심에 대한 확고한 감각을 가지고 있어야 하며, 지도자에 대한 성경적 요구 사항에 일치하는 생활 방식을 가져야 합니다. (디모데전서 3:1-7, 디도서 1:5-9, 베드로전서 5:1-5)
리더십과 목회적 돌봄: 부목사의 주된 역할은 GCC를 목양하는 일에 담임목사와 동역하는 것입니다. 그는 교회의 모든 직원 모임과 수련회에 참석해야 합니다. 그는 또한 설교하고, 수업을 가르치며, 회원들을 돌볼 것입니다.
소그룹 및 제자도: 교회 공동체의 활동적인 구성원이 되고 공동체 그룹에 참여함으로써 공동체 내 제자도의 모범이 됩니다. 그는 또한 교회에서 가르치는 과정을 감독하는 데 도움을 줄 것입니다.
지원 사역: 부목사는 사역 계획과 감독에 있어 담임목사의 지원을 도울 것으로 예상됩니다.
팀 플레이어: 부목사는 담임목사, 자문단, 인턴, 교인들과 긴밀히 협력할 것입니다. 유연성과 겸손함을 겸비한 믿음직한 팀플레이어여야 합니다.

자격
복음 중심의 신학, 리더십, 개인 발전, 교회 개척에 헌신합니다.
안수받은 목사 또는 안수를 추구하는 사람
가르치기 쉽고, 열정적이며, 스스로 동기를 부여받습니다.
다른 사람을 목양하고, 시스템과 팀을 구축하는 검증된 능력을 가지고 있습니다.
의사소통 능력이 뛰어나고 행정 능력이 있는 분
영어에 능통하신분. (한국어에도 능통하신 분 우대합니다)

교육 및 경험
교육: 공인된 신학교에서 M. Div 또는 이와 동등한 학위를 취득하거나 졸업했습니다.
경력: 지역 교회에서 2년 이상 전임 직업 사역을 한 경력
