Greetings! This is an urgent and important recommendation from the Education Ministry of Korea regarding Medical Insurance. It is highly recommended by Education Ministry of Korea that every international student MUST have a medical insurance from next year beginning from January-2018. Those who are going to their home country during winter vacation, can register upon their arrival. However, continuing students should do it as soon as possible. Medical Insurance costs 49,550 won per month (as for this year) after government’s 50% discount for international students. If you are married and stays with family in Korea, the mount is same as single. Hence, students who stay in Dorm and also those who stay off-campus MUST have medical insurance.
